I’ve been MIA for a few weeks now because I’ve been on summer vacation. As much as I like to pretend I’ll be productive during the long car rides and stints in hotels, it never happens. Currently I’m in a pretty sweet hotel in West Virginia, and we’re on our way back south after spending a couple of days at Niagara Falls (I went to Canada for a few hours!!!!!!!!!!!).
In addition to that, this trip has included a week of nerd camp (the International History Olympiad) and visits to historic Williamsburg, Yorktown, Philadelphia and Gettysburg. My family also went to some cool places while I spent two nights visiting a friend in New York. Apparently they met reenactors of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton and Lafayette. I can’t believe they met The Squad without me. I still would have chosen New York without question, but they didn’t even give me a choice.
Anyway, I’ll probably be writing about many of these experiences in different blog posts. I just wanted to mention the reason for my absence.
