I mean, I’ve been working for a while. But now I have a job that is slightly more official, in that I go to a place and take orders from a boss and stand around taking people’s money and managing a business instagram account for six hours, five days a week.
My original plans for work this year fell through, so I started applying for other places. I got hired to work part-time at a video game lounge, so now I’m a cashier/social media person. It isn’t the most exciting job in the world, but it’s pretty chill, and my coworkers are fun, and I can play the games for free. I haven’t done it much, just because I have other things going on and I don’t really want to spend more time at work than I have to… But I can. Still, it’s been a lesson in time management skills. I work in the evenings, so I have to try to get everything done in the mornings. Sometimes that doesn’t always happen…
In other news, I’m growing things! My first batch of strawberries didn’t work out, but the okra did, and now I have 12 okra plants that I transplanted into bigger pots yesterday. Now I’m anxiously watering and watching the seeds of cherry tomatoes, eggplant, peas, and more strawberries and crossing my fingers. The tomatoes have started to do… something. I’m still waiting on the others. And my instagram is pretty much 50% plants at this point.
I’m also trying to prepare for National Novel Writing Month this year. It’ll be my 8th year participating, and every time I think about that I just can’t believe it. Am I going to do this every year forever? Maybe. This year I actually have a whole basic storyline already laid out, which is a huge change for me. I guess we’ll see how it goes being a planner rather than a pantser.
I’ll try to get back on track with posting regularly again. And also, hopefully, with posts that are more interesting than just me talking about recent happenings. Until then.
