MTM Day 16: Kinky Boots

I picked this one because I recognized the name when I saw it on a list of bootlegs. I didn’t know until today that it was a movie or that it was based on a true story. Basically, the heir of a failing shoe factory teams up with a drag queen to make boots for drag queens and thus save the factory (and the jobs of all the workers).

Now that I’ve seen the musical, I wish I’d seen the movie first. It wasn’t that it was hard to understand what was going on, but I think I might have enjoyed it if I’d seen the original. (Or maybe I’d think they “ruined” it, who knows.) The musical was alright. The songs did well in conveying the story, but most of them weren’t particularly memorable. It was an alright way to spend 2 hours, though, and the movie is on my list to watch once the month is over, though.

(I also made some serious headway on my crochet project, so that’s a plus!)
